Sellers can accommodate bundles in a number of ways on SidelineSwap. How you approach the bundle depends on where in the swap lifecycle the bundle is being created -- before the buyer has made any purchases, after they've purchased but before you've shipped, or after you've already shipped the bundle.
Read on for instructions on how to approach bundling on SidelineSwap.
Before the buyer has purchased anything:
If a buyer reaches out inquiring about multiple of your items, you can edit one of the existing listings or create a new one altogether for the desired bundle.
As a part of this step, it’s important that you update the weight and dimensions of the bundled listing to reflect all items that will be included in the package. For example, if a buyer wants to purchase hockey skates and a helmet, the weight of the new listing should reflect the weight of the hockey skates plus the weight of the helmet.
If a buyer has purchased multiple listings already...
And you haven't shipped anything yet...
You can still create the bundle and update the tracking on your end! Follow the below steps to creat your bundle:
- Print the shipping label for the swap with the largest item included in your bundle.
- Copy that tracking code and go to the other swap(s) included in the bundle.
- On the swap(s), click "Update Label" then "Use My Own Label".
- Add the used tracking code and carrier to the other swap(s).
Please note, when you do this, you will automatically receive the shipping credit. To refund the unused shipping cost back to the buyer, you'll just need to issue the buyer a partial refund in that amount. You can find this amount on your receipt:
Since you've added the tracking code to each swap, they'll update as the package is scanned in transit and ultimately delivered to the buyer.
And you've already shipped the items in a single package...
Simply follow steps 2-4 above. You'll also see the option to "Refresh Tracking Status" on your swap page. Clicking this will update the swap to show that the package is already in transit.
