Sideline Pro and Pro+ sellers can keep a private note on any swap, for example "2 yellow grips, 3 black" or "Bin C4". You write the note on the swap page, and it prints on your packing slip so you can read it while you pack.
How to add a note
- On SidelineSwap.com, open the swap from your Swaps inbox.
- On the right side of the swap page, below Print Label and View Receipt, click Notes.
- Type your note. It saves as you type. You'll see Saved when it's stored.
To edit a note, open Notes again and change the text. To delete it, clear all the text.
Copy a buyer's message into your note
When a buyer asks for something specific in the conversation, you don't need to retype it:
- Hover over the buyer's message.
- Click the Copy to notes icon.
The message is added to the end of your note on its own line. Anything already in the note stays.
Where your note shows up
- Swap page: the closed Notes row shows the first line of your note.
- Swaps inbox: a small notepad icon marks every swap that has a note.
- Packing slip: the note prints in a box on the packing slip. If there's no note, the box prints blank so you can write on it by hand.
Who can see your note?
Buyers can't see your note on SidelineSwap. But the packing slip goes in the package, so if you include the slip, the buyer can read the note. Don't write anything on it that you wouldn't want the buyer to see.
How long can a note be?
A note can be up to six lines, which is the size of the box on the packing slip. When the note is full, you'll see Full — six lines fit on the slip. If a buyer message is too long to fit, you'll see Too long to fit on the slip, and your note won't change.
