SidelineSwap is a great place to buy and sell new or used lacrosse shafts. We know that packaging lacrosse shafts can be a challenge so we wanted to offer you a few tips to help you ship yours safely and efficiently.
Materials You'll Need for a Shaft
- 1-2 Triangular Shipping tubes (about 6" x 6" x 38"), available at FedEx
- Bubble wrap, available at FedEx or available at any office supply store or general merchandise store (i.e. Target, Walmart)
- Quality packing tape, available at FedEx or available at any office supply store or general merchandise store (i.e. Target, Walmart)
- Cardboard scraps, available from previously used packaging of any sort
- Newspaper, old magazines, parchment paper, available at any office supply store or general merchandise store (i.e. Target, Walmart)
Package the Shaft
- Wrap the bubble wrap around the shaft and tape it in place.
- Assemble one triangular shipping tube and place cardboard scraps, crumpled magazine sheets, newspaper, and or parchment paper inside the box to add padding.
- Place the stick in the box and add more cardboard scraps, crumpled magazine sheets, newspaper, and or parchment paper on top and on the sides of the shaft. Add as padding as possible so that the shaft won't slip out of the box during transit or break.
- Tape around each of the flaps, the top, and the bottom of the box to ensure the box does not come undone in-transit.
- Attach the shipping label to the package and send the shaft to its new owner!
Package the Long Pole
- Assemble the first box and leave one end open. Assemble the 2nd box leaving both sides open.
- Tape the boxes together at the open end so you are left with a single tube. You should now have a single box approximately 76” in length.
- Cut one side of the box so the stick does not have free space to move around. We recommend filling the ends of the box with crumpled newspaper or to ensure the shaft is not touching the end of the box.
- Tape around each of the flaps, the top, and the bottom of the box to ensure the box does not come undone in-transit.
- Attach the shipping label to the package and send the pole to its new owner!
