SidelineSwap is a great place to buy and sell lacrosse sticks, both new and used. If you're looking to sell your complete stick, we've got a few tips to help you ship them safely.
Materials You'll Need
- Quality packing tape
- Two boxes: one long, rectangular box for the shaft; a shorter rectangular box for the head
- 1-2 Triangular Shipping tubes (about 6" x 6" x 38"), available at FedEx or a USPS Medium Tube box
- For long poles, tape 2 boxes together
- Bubble wrap/newspaper
Packaging
Assemble the longer box - secure one end with at least 3 layers of tape, and leave the other end open. For long poles, tape 2 longer boxes together. Assemble the first box and leave one end open. Assemble the 2nd box leaving both sides open. Tape the boxes together at the open end so you are left with a single tube. You should now have a single box approximately 76” in length. Cut one side of the box so the stick does not have free space to move around. Place paper or bubble wrap at the bottom of the box to prevent the shaft from touching the end.
Secure the creases of the box with plenty of tape. Place the shaft into the longer box so that the head is poking out from the top. Place the smaller box over the head. Tape up the opening between the two boxes. We recommend filling the ends of the box with crumpled newspaper or to ensure the shaft is not touching the end of the box. If the item has free space to move around, there is a higher chance that the shaft will pierce the box and fall out. This can lead to your items being lost in transit.
If you cannot get your hands on a USPS medium tube box, you can always use a box you already own. Rug boxes, hockey stick boxes, and lamp boxes are good examples of the proper size and shape box that you could use to ship your Complete Lacrosse Stick.
For Canadian Sellers, we recommend checking out the ULINE 38"-48” Long corrugated boxes.
