Shipping Tennis Rackets
SidelineSwap is a great place to buy and sell new or used tennis rackets. We know that packaging tennis rackets can be a challenge so we wanted to offer you a few tips to help you ship yours safely.
Materials You'll Need
- Two FOL side opening mailing boxes, available at FedEx or included with a USPS Priority Mail shipping label.
- Tennis racket sleeve
- Bubble wrap, available at FedEx or available at any office supply store or general merchandise store (i.e. Target, Walmart)
- Newspaper, old magazines, parchment paper, available at any office supply store or general merchandise store (i.e. Target, Walmart)
- Quality packing tape, available at FedEx or available at any office supply store or general merchandise store (i.e. Target, Walmart)
Package Your Racquet
1. Place the racket sleeve on the racquet, then bubble wrap the entire tennis racket (including the head, shaft, throat, and handle/grip). If you don't have a racket sleeve, be sure to add extra bubble wrap.
2. Place the crumpled magazine sheets, newspaper, or parchment paper at the bottom of the first box to provide padding for the handle and butt of the racket.
3. Place the racket inside the first box, handle side down. Place more crumpled magazine sheets, newspaper, or parchment paper on the sides of the handle to ensure it doesn't move around in-transit.
4. Put crumpled magazine sheets, newspaper, or parchment paper at the bottom of the second box.
5. After the padding is in place, put the second box over the top of the head of the racket. Push the box down over the first box until it touches the head of the racket and overlap the boxes.
6. Tape securely around the boxes to ensure the package doesn't come undone in-transit.
7. Attach the shipping label to the package and send the racket to its new owner!
